This is the first part of 2-part series with Kanan Dhru, Founder – Research Foundation for Governance in India (RFGI) where she talked about her thought process behind starting RFGI.
* She mentioned about the recent experience of her parents where one of her uncle was extremely disapproving of her work.
* She was a lawyer in Gujarat High-court where she found many people were not able to get the justice which they could’ve got. When she met many established people, they suggested her to join back the corporate law firm instead of doing this!
*That led to the foundation of Research Foundation of Governance in India ( RFGI ) to bring legal reforms in India thru research work. She also talked about how she was able to build the initial team for RFGI.
* She also talked about their work to involve youth in Governance and policy-making. Some of their research work have been quoted in government commission reports also.
