About ‘SweetlyDesigns’ – Beautiful Handicrafts for a Beautiful World.
We would be launching Sweetly Online Store ( http://sweetly.in/ ) and showcasing beautifully crafted Sweetly Handmade Jewelry at the venue.
- Sweetly Designs creates a sustainable livelihood for rural artisans by providing them access to global markets for handicrafts and empowering them with training, raw materials, knowledge resources and other supports.
- SweetlyDesigns markets beautifully designed handmade jewelry made by inspiring rural women in Dang District, tribal district of Gujarat, India where even today 75% of population is living below poverty line.
- SweetlyDesigns collaborates with Adesh Mahila Mandal, self-help group based in Sajipara Village, Dang District to help rural women increase their income in a sustainable manner, and to avoid labor-intensive jobs that they previously faced as alternatives to jewelry making.

Our work for SweetlyDesigns in the Dang District is being included as Case study by Forest Department for sustainable livelihoods which was presented to JICA, Japanese organization which funds Forest Department to build Self-Help Groups in Gujarat . As of now we work with 5 villages in Dang district and give employment to 15 rural women. Our aim is to employ 500 rural people by the end of 2012.
Also from June onwards we’ve started organizing ‘SweetlyCampfires’ where we take people visit beautiful dangs and understand the work we are doing for dangs. This has open up a very good opportunity for us to get potential international buyers with us to visit the place which in turn creates demand for our products.
